Nuclear instruments and methods Ключевые слова: alpha-n sources Neutron energy spectra have been measured for 239Pu-Be sources containing 2, 14, 80 and 160 g of Pu. Intensity maxima near 2.0, 3.1, 4.8, 6.6, 7.7 and 9.8 MeV were seen in two of the spectra. The principle differences between these spectra are in the 0-3 MeV energy region with the larger sources having the higher percentages of neutrons in the region. A single stilbene crystal, fast neutron spectrometer and a long counter were used for these measurements. The spectrum of the 80 g source had previously been determined with the use of nuclear emulsions. The agreement between the emulsion spectrum and the present measurements of this source is quite close. |
